Vulcanized splicing of rubber conveyor belting is an essential part of the services offered by ATC. The vulcanizing of fabric ply conveyor belting is carried out either under a hot or cold method depending on the requirements and specifications. A hot vulcanized splice is usually the best option because the chemical and physical processes are the same as for the original belt. A good hot spliced belt can last as long as the belt itself. Pressed between heated plates with uniformly distributed pressure results in a good bonding suitable for higher tensions. A cold splice has cost advantages but is preferred for low to medium tension belts. The vulcanizing of steel chord conveyor belting is carried out under the hot method. The work is done at our factory or at the customer’s site depending on convenience and requirement.
